Mendoza Park

Situated within the city proper, is a parked framed by beautiful Palawan Cherry Blossoms and age-old acacia trees and landscaped with ornamental parts, is the Mendoza Park, named after the late hero Dr. Higinio Mendoza, who was executed by the Japanese at Canigaran on January 24, 1944, because of his resistance to their control. His remains and those of several unknown soldiers were interred into the memorial found on one side of the Mendoza Park.
